GatherParty helps small groups of friends find times when everyone can meet. This page explains what data GatherParty accesses, why, and what happens to it.
What we access
- Google account profile: your name, email address, and profile photo, used to sign you in and to show group members who has joined.
- Google Calendar (read-only): the start and end times of events on calendars you have selected in Google Calendar, whether each event marks you as busy, whether you declined it, and its location field. GatherParty cannot create, change, or delete anything on your calendar.
How we use calendar data
When a group member searches for a meeting time, GatherParty reads each member's calendar for the requested date range, computes times when everyone stays free, and shows only those candidate times. An event's location serves only to decide whether to leave travel time around it.
GatherParty never stores your calendar events. It reads them on demand, uses them for that one calculation, and discards them. Other group members never see your events, their titles, or their locations, only the shared free times.
What we store
- The groups you create or join, and their invite links, in our database (Neon Postgres).
- Your sign-in account and Google access tokens, held by our authentication provider, Clerk.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, and we don't use it for advertising or to train AI models. Data passes only to the service providers that run GatherParty (Clerk, Neon, Vercel) for the purpose of operating it.
Google API Services
GatherParty's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Revoke GatherParty's calendar access anytime at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Email mkbunday@gmail.com to have your data deleted or with any question.
